Offshore fishing is the practice of fishing in the open ocean, typically beyond the range of the coastline. This type of fishing is done on a boat, and the angler can target a wide variety of species such as tuna, marlin, sailfish, swordfish, wahoo, and mahi-mahi. Offshore fishing can be done by trolling, casting, or jigging. It requires specialized equipment, and the angler must be prepared for the open water conditions.
